BUTTON SERIES - Part 9 - Six Types of Buttonhole

Writer's picture: Amy BuddAmy Budd

Welcome to the penultimate part in my button series where I'm showing six different types of buttonhole sewn on my Janome Atelier 7 sewing machine.

  1. A Square Buttonhole - suggested for medium to heavyweight fabrics. Although this is the one that I use on most of my projects regardless of the fabric weight!

  2. A round buttonhole - used on fine to medium weight fabrics.

  3. A keyhole buttonhole - used on medium to heavyweight fabrics like denim.

  4. A stretch buttonhole for stretchy fabrics or decoration.

  5. A knit buttonhole for knit fabrics.

  6. An antique buttonhole - used for decorative purposes
