Where To Buy Fabric Online

A shelf of dressmaking fabrics in lots of different colours and patterns

I often get asked where I buy my fabric for sewing and dressmaking and currently I’m not on a fabric buying ban as such, but I’m trying to buy less and use up what I already have on my shelves.  However, the question does make me reflect on where I have bought pieces from in the past and where I will head to again when I’m looking for something new for my next project.

Ideally I like to buy fabric in person so I can pick it up, feel the weight, look at the drape and so on but sometimes you can’t find exactly what you are looking for and a search online is the next step.

There are so many options online that it can feel overwhelming, so I thought that I would start to pull together a list that I can refer back to and also to help anyone else who might be interested.

So here goes….a list in no particular order of online fabric and haberdashery shops that I have discovered:

I will keep adding to this list over time as I find more!  Let me know if there are any you would add to the list!
