Hi Everyone! Welcome to my new website! This has been a project long in the making and I'm pleased to say that it is finally here. I wanted to use this first blog post as an introduction to me, the face behind the name; explain what Dress By Amy is all about and also what I intend to blog about moving forward.
So.....a bit about me..... I'm Amy Budd, owner of Dress By Amy. I grew up in East Anglia but now live in North Yorkshire. I live with my partner, Gareth and our beautiful rescue dog, Pepper. After leaving school I started working in Human Resources and have been doing so ever since (over 20 years now....where does the time go?) However, this year I had the opportunity to go part time due to a restructure in my team and that has allowed me to focus on developing Dress By Amy.
When I'm not working in HR or developing my business, I like to sew for myself and my aim is to have a completely handmade wardrobe. Not sure when I will achieve that goal but I'm enjoying working on it! I also like gardening with any spare time I have left!
In tandem to my blog, I also run an Etsy shop called DBASnippets. I hate waste, especially when it comes to beautiful fabrics and DBASnippets is where I sell all of my fabric scraps in various shapes and forms. Some as fabric bundles or pre-cut pieces intended for use by other crafters and some I make into other smaller items like fabric covered buttons, make up and clutch bags.
