Make your own cute pincushion with some small pieces of felt, embroidery thread and some stuffing!
You'll need some felt, embroidery thread, scissors, pencil, a needle and some wadding or toy stuffing.
- Cut out two rectangles - mine are about 4 inches by 2.5 inches.
- Draw two flowers on different colour felts - one small and one larger one.
- Cut them out.
- Cut a length of embroidery thread, separate out two strands and tie a knot in one end.
- Thread your needle.
- Sew the flowers onto one of the main rectangular felt pieces.
- Secure your threads on the underside.
- Separate out another four threads from your embroidery thread.
- Stitch the two rectangular pieces of felt together with a blanket stitch. The first stitch starts between the layers and the rest go through both.
- Stitch most of the way around your rectangles but leave a gap so that you can put the stuffing in.
- Stuff the cushion with stuffing / wadding.
- Close up the gap by continuing the blanket stitch.
- Secure your threads when you are done.
- Fill with pins!
